Definite labelling of printed circuit boards

DYNAMIC Systems GmbH produced definite, mechincal readable serial numbers without "duplicates", to ensure a definite labelling for very small labels (7 x 7 mm or 8 x 8 mm). A testing system has been developed, that prints, reads, writes in a database and checks the uniqueness of 1D and 2D barcodes in one stop independent from the pruinter or software.

For the labelling and identification of printed circuit boards for example, mechanical readable labels with unique serial numbers in the term of 1D or 2D barcoes are labelled and spent on the components. In practice it often happens, that the print cannot be read explicitly or that double serial numbers are generated due to a system malfunction. Since the registration of identification numbers takes place at the end of the manufacturing, scrap of not readable or double serial numbers result. The workflow is disturbed sensitively and causes high costs of rework.

On this account DYNAMIC Systems GmbH has camera testing systems in action, which read every imprint directly after imprinting and before the label is placed on the components. A database records all serial numbers and checks the uniqueness of the number. When recognizing an unreadable imprint or double serial numbers the system generates an error message and interrupts the printing. Scanners check the readability of the 1D or 2D codes. Alternatively additional quality test criteria can be set by the camera, to ensure an optimal readbility of following reading stations.
